Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao share FIRST message post divorce announcement, See Video
After 15 years, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced divorce. Now, the duo has shared their FIRST message.
On Saturday, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao called it quit after 15 years of marriage. The duo released an official statement announcing the same and stated that they will co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan, and also will continue with their professional partnership with Paani Foundation.

Now, after announcing their split, now a video of Aamir and Kiran is doing rounds on social media post their divorce. In the video, the ‘3 Idiots’ actor said in Hindi: “Aap logon ko dukh bhi hua hoga, acha nai laga hoga, shock laga hoga. Hum bus aapko itna kehna chahte hai ki hum dono bohot khush hai aur hum ek hi parivaar hai. Humare rishte mein change aaya hai par hum log ekdusre ke saath hi hai. Toh aaplog aese kabhi mat sochiyega. Hum hamesha family hi rahenge. Aap humare liye dua kariye, prathna kariye.”

In their joint statement, the two wrote: “In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other. We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together. We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about. A big thank you to our families and friends for their constant support and understanding about this evolution in our relationship, and without whom we would not have been so secure in taking this leap. We request our well wishers for good wishes and blessings, and hope that – like us – you will see this divorce not as an end, but as the start of a new journey. Thanks and love, Kiran and Aamir.”
On 28 December 2005, Khan married Kiran Rao, who had been an assistant director to Gowariker on the set of ‘Lagaan.’ On 5 December 2011, they announced the birth of their son, Azad Rao Khan, via a surrogacy. He was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has a daughter named Ira Khan and a son named Junaid.
