In addition, your Google account lets you customize your experience with other sites and services, like Google Maps, YouTube, Google search itself, and many others. You’ll lose all the data and content in that account, like emails, files, calendars, and photos.
You won’t be able to use Google services where you sign in with that account, like Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Play.
You’ll lose access to subscriptions and content you bought with that account on YouTube or Google Play, like apps, movies, games, music, and TV shows.

If you have made up your mind to delete your Google Account then you might want to back up all your data. The first step here is to take the time to download a copy of all your data. Also make sure that none of your online accounts are linked to the Google account you’re about to close.

Here are the steps to back up your Google account data:

 

  • Open your Google account Dashboard.
  •  Click on Download your data.
  • If you don’t want the data from a particular Google site or service, clear the checkmark for that item.
  • Next, scroll to the bottom and click Next Steps.
  • Choose how you want to get the data: via email or delivered to a Dropbox location.
  • Next click Create archive.

Remember that if you choose to get your data via email, don’t delete your account until you’ve secured the data, or it will be deleted along with your account.

How To Delete Google Account:

  • Open your Google Account home page.
  • On the left side of the screen, click on Data & personalization.
  • Scroll down. In the section called Download, delete, or make a plan for your data,
  • Click Delete a service or your account.
  • On the next page, click Delete your account.
  • Enter your Google password when it’s requested.
  • Check the boxes with final acknowledgments
  • Click on Delete Account.
  • All of your data will be deleted shortly.

Just like your Google Account, you can even delete your Gmail account.  But remember deleting your Gmail account is permanent. After going through the process, all of your emails and account settings will be erased.

Here is a step by step guide to delete your Gmail account:

  • Sign in to your Gmail account on Google.com
  • Click the grid icon in the upper right-hand corner and select “Account.”
  • Under the “Account preferences” section click “Delete your account or services.”
  • Select “Delete products.”
  • Enter your password.
  • Click ‘Download Data’ to save any important information from being permanently erased
  • Click the trash can icon next to “Gmail.”
  • Enter an alternate email address (cannot be another Gmail address).
  • Click “Send Verification Email.”
  • Open the email from Google you should have received with your alternate email.
  • Follow the deletion link in the message.
  • If prompted, log into the Gmail account you want to delete.
  • Select “Yes, I want to delete (example)@gmail.com.”
  • Click “Delete Gmail.”
  • Then, click “Done.
