Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi goes missing in Antigua
Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi has gone missing in Antigua. Currently, the police are investigating the matter.
In a shocking turn of events, on Monday night, the Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) Scam, has gone missing in Antigua where he was residing for the last few years. The news was confirmed by his lawyer Vijay Aggarwal.
News agency ANI tweeted: “Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi has gone missing. His family members are worried & anxious, and they had called me to discuss. Antigua Police is investigating: Choksi’s lawyer, advocate Vijay Aggarwal.”

According to Hindustan Times, Choksi’s lawyer Aggarwal said, “Mehul Choksi is missing. His family members are worried and anxious and had called me to discuss. Antigua police are investigating. Family is in the dark and worried about his safety.”
According to PTI, on Monday evening, Mehul Choksi left his residence to go for dinner at a restaurant in the southern part of the island and has not been seen since. Later, his vehicle was found in Jolly Harbour, but there was no sign of him. The Antigua police also sought help from the public to trace Choksi.
Choksi is wanted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in India in connection with ₹14,000 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) loan fraud and money laundering case. Along with Choksi, his nephew, billionaire jeweler Nirav Modi, is also wanted in connection with the PNB scam case, who resides in the United Kingdom currently.
