Sunrisers Hyderabad owners donate INR 30 crore in India's fight against Coronavirus
India is battling a devastating health crisis in the second wave of the global pandemic. The new variant is found to be more infectious and deadly than the previous strain. It is currently causing over 4,000 daily deaths. To combat the crisis many organizations and individuals have tried their best to contribute to India’s fight against the new coronavirus variant. Owners of IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad have also stepped forward and donated INR 30 Crore to “provide relief to those affected by the second wave” of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tweeting from their official handle, SRH wrote: “Sun TV (SunRisers Hyderabad) is donating Rs.30 crores to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
They added, “This will be spent on several initiatives currently underway at various states of India including the following: 1. Donations to the various programs initiated by the Government of India and State governments. 2. Partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines, etc.”

Australian cricketers Pat Cummins and Brett Lee donated 50,000 US Dollars (nearly INR 37 lakhs)and a cryptocurrency donation of one Bitcoin (nearly INR 41 lakhs). Estonian Cricket Association donated INR 1 Lakh in Bitcoins (0.027 BTC). Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and more have also contributed. So has IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals have also made notable contributions.
