India’s highest single-day COVID-19 count peaks to 3,32,730 cases

The pandemic Coronavirus outspread has recorded a rapid surge in India. Over the last few weeks, the outspread has been vulnerable leading the nation towards dealing with oxygen and vaccine crises. As of by Friday i.e April 23, India recorded its highest single-day spike with more than 3,32,730 fresh COVID-19 cases. This marks the highest per day spike ever since the pandemic hit the country.

With emerging double mutant Coronavirus cases, India has acquired the second position in the world to have the worst hit by the pandemic after the US. As the data issued by the Health Ministry, the nation has reported around 3,32,730 new COVID-19 cases, while the death count is at 2,263 and the discharges are at 1,93,279 count in the span of the last 24 hours.

Several states including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and few others have reported being running out of vaccines and oxygen. To get a hold of the situation, PM Narendra Modi chairs a meeting with the chief ministers of high burden states to discuss the preventive measures.
