COVID-19 Update: India recorded 47,262 new cases in the last 24 hours
India records a surge in COVID-19 tally. Around 47,262 new cases were recorded in the span of last 24hrs
India began its COVID-19 vaccination ride few months ago and frontline workers including several politicians have received their respective doses so. While the health ministry is carrying out the vaccination mission at a huge level the emerging new cases sees a surge over last few weeks. India recorded its biggest single day rise in this year (from January to March) with 47,262 new cases. Maharashtra including Karnataka, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh have contributed with highest number of new cases.
The nationwide COVID-19 tally reaches to 11,734,058 according to the Health Ministry. India has recorded around 275 related fatalities making it the highest single-day toll in this year. The total fatality count pushed the death toll up to 1,60,441. The above mentioned states have contributed with highest amount of new emerging cases with around 80.90 per cent among others.

With constantly emerging COVID-19 cases Indian state governments have started issuing new guidelines. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on the other side has imposed a ban on Holi celebrations in public gatherings. No Holi party will be allowed to be hosted.
