India Wins Bronze In ISSF WC: Divyansh Singh Panwar’s big win in 100m air rifle finals

India showcased an impressive opening at the International Shooting Sport Federation WC’s 100m air rifle competition. Three shooters-Divyansh Singh Panwar, Arjun Babuta and Anjum Moudgil made it through to the finals on Friday. Divyansh makes a big win bagging the bronze medal for the country. American Lucas Kozeniesky bagged the gold medal with 249.8, while Istvan Peni of Hungaria bagged silver with 249.7.
Divyansh rose to the third position after he shot 228.1. With this the star shooter opened India’s account in the ISSF WC in winning the medals. A 10.6 and 10.3 in the seventh series saw Divyansh survive from the eliminations as Sergey Richter of Israel fell behind. This win is sure to add good things in Jaipur-based Divyansh’s shooting career. This would also build up his confidence as he braces for the Tokyo Games. On the other side Arjun Babuta finished at the fifth position.

For the unversed, three shooters including two Indians test positive for COVID-19 after they participated in the ISSF World Cup’s.
“Two Indian shooters have been tested positive for COVID. Their roommates are placed in isolation. Both shooters are 10m air pistol category and quarantined as per the protocol. An international shooter has also tested positive,” a source in the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) told news agency ANI.
