On 72nd Republic Day of India today, thousands of farmer protestors gathered in Delhi carried a tractor rally against the new farm laws which were introduced by the center. The tractors rally turned into a violent clash with the police officials. The videos and images are going viral on the internet, which showcases the horrific scenes from the violent protest. Several buses were vandalised, police officials were attacked and according to the latest reports over 25 metro station gates were kept shut today.
Earlier today, Delhi Police apparently allowed farmers to carry out their tractors through the selected routes. However, the clashes erupted between the protesting farmers and police officials who were maintaining the barricades as its Republic Day. As the tractors rally started turning violent the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced about shutting down several of its stations. The officials handle of Delhi Metro Railway also tweeted, “Entry/exit gates of Indraprastha metro station are closed. Entry/exit gates of Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18/19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Jahangir Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Model Town, GTB Nagar, Vishwavidyalaya, Vidhan Sabha and Civil Lines are closed.”

The road routes are also highly affected due to the protest. Farmers started protesting against the new farm bill from the month of November last year.
