A massive fire broke out today at the Serum Institute Of India, which is located in Pune. Around 10 fire tenders rushed for the rescue mission. A thick layer of smoke was observed coming out of the buildings in the SII complex at Gopalpatti. Now, the Maharashtra state government has ordered an investigating into the fire incident.
Talking about the fire incident, the Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said that the directives have been issued for a detailed probe for the incident. He also clarified that the plants wherein Coronavirus vaccines were being manufactured are safe. “Efforts to douse the fire at Serum Institute of India are going on war footing. The city and district administrations have been activated to help with the operation. Directives have been issued to the Pune Police commissioner (Amitabh Gupta) for a detailed investigation into the incident,” he said in a statement.

“Four people were evacuated from the building but when it came under control, five bodies were found by our jawans,” Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol told news agency ANI.
