Rowan Atkinson who is best known for playing the iconic role of Mr. Bean revealed that he doesn’t like playing it anymore. The sitcom consists of 15 episodes and began with the pilot on 1 January 1990 and ended with “The Best Bits of Mr. Bean” on 15 December 1995. The series has also been sold in 245 territories worldwide

The actor developed Mr. Bean while he was studying for his master’s degree at Oxford University and launched the character on television in 1990, the series revolved around Mr. Bean, and Atkinson described the character as “a child in a grown man’s body.”

The British actor is currently working on an animated Mr. Bean movie, in an interview, he revealed that he finds playing the popular character. “I don’t much enjoy playing him. The weight of responsibility is not pleasant. I find it stressful and exhausting, and I look forward to the end of it,” Atkinson told the Radio Times.
Further, when asked why is he still working on an animated movie? He said, “Having made an animated TV series, we’re now in the foothills of developing an animated movie for Mr. Bean, it’s easier for me to perform the character vocally than visually.”
Lastly, he also revealed that Mr. Bean’s success never surprised him. He always believed that watching an adult act in a childish way, totally innocent of his inappropriateness was basically amusing. “The fact the comedy is visual rather than verbal means it has been successful internationally, too.”
