India has temporarily suspended flights coming from the UK, after a new strain of mutant Coronavirus was observed. States soon revised its safety guideline’s and restrictions. Few states have made the announcement of revising the restrictions and imposing night curfew’s till first week of January, considering the night parties and gatherings that happen during the year end. Here are the states which have announced the restrictions for new year celebrations.

Revised Pandemic Restrictions For New Year  Celebrations:

Maharashtra

MAHA govt has announced a seven-hour night curfew across all cities and municipal corporation areas. This decision commenced post India temporarily suspends flights from the UK due to a new strain of mutant Coronavirus. The night curfew in Maharashtra has been imposed from 11 pm to 6 am for dates between December 22 -January 5, 2021.

Rajasthan:

Considering the prevailing COVID-19 situations, Rajasthan government on Wednesday imposed a night curfew between 8.00 pm on December 31, 2020, and 6.00 am on January 1, 2021. The curfew has been imposed for all the cities in the state having a population of over one lakh. As per the official notification issued by the government, markets in the areas where the night curfew is imposed will close at 7.00 pm.

 

Uttarakhand:

The Dehradun administration has imposed a complete ban collective celebrations such as year end, new year parties at the Hotels, Bars, Restaurants. The decision has been taken by the government officials in order to contain the spread of COVID-19. Any violation of the ban will be punishable under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Diseases Act and other relevant sections of the IPC, said an order issued by Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Shrivastava.

 

Karnataka:

According to a statement by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, the state will be under curfew from 10 pm to 6 am. The night curfew will be imposed starting from December 24 and it will continue till January 2. The decision was taken just a day after the CM announced about having no need for night curfews. Apparently, the curfew was announced considering a new strain of mutant COVID-19.

Tamil Nadu:

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday issued a statement new restrictions for new year celebrations. The government has imposed a ban on public gatherings at beaches, resorts, hotels, pubs as well as roads to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Hotels can function and remain open, however it cannot host events or celebrations. Entry to beaches will be closed on New Year’s Eve and the following day, the statement said further.
