A devastating fire broke out at a Durga Puja pandal (marquee) in Kolkata’s Salt Lake, no casuality
A major fire broke out at the popular FD Block Durga Puja pandal in Salt Lake area of Kolkata. The shocking incident took place on Wednesday morning before the immersion. The entire Durga idol, along with the pandal decorations has been ravaged in flames. No casualty was reported in the fire incident.
At least four fire tenders were pressed into action. At least four fire tenders were pressed into action. The idols were to be immersed later on Wednesday. The cause of the fire is not known as yet.

Fire and Emergency Services soon reached the spot and have conducted relief operations. West Bengal minister Sujit Basu has also rushed to the spot and accessed the situation. He said, “We have already sent a requisition for forensic examination to the Bidhannagar police. A forensic team will visit the spot to ascertain the cause of the fire.”
Local sources said that all closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras were dismantled at night on Tuesday. The police will check if there was any foul play.
