Deepika Padukone to appear before NCB tomorrow in the drug nexus probe
Deepika Padukone will be taking a charter plane from Goa to reach Mumbai today for NCB summons.
Deepika Padukone’s name has arrived in Bollywood’s alleged connection with drug peddlers. Reportedly, Deepika is set to appear before NCB tomorrow. The actress was in Goa as she was shooting for her Shakun Batra directorial. The movie also features Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday.
According to Times Now, the Mumbai Police have been asked to deploy additional security ahead of her visit. The actress has got permission from the Goa Airport for a chartered plane at 1:30 pm for Mumbai. The report states that the actress has sought legal advice through video conferencing with a 12-member team. Her husband-actor Ranveer Singh was also a part of the video conference.
Apart from Deepika, actresses like Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh also have been summoned by the NCB for questioning in the drug nexus probe.
Deepika Padukone’s name came into the limelight after her WhatsApp chat with the KWAN talent manager Karishma Prakash had surfaced. The Pink actress was allegedly asking for ‘maal, hash’.
Karishma Prakash was summoned, however, she could not appear before the agency due to ill health. She has requested for an exemption from appearance till Friday, reported Republic TV.
Earlier, today, Shruti Modi and fashion designer Simone Khambata have also been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in the drug nexus case.
The drug-related case comes in the wake of the investigation linked to the death of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
