Sandalwood Drug Racket: Actress Sanjjanaa Galrani Arrested
After Ragini Dwivedi, Kannada actress Sanjjanaa Galrani is arrested by Bengaluru police
The Sandalwood Drug Racket case is hitting headlines once again. After the arrest of actress Ragini Dwivedi. Searches were conducted at the home of Ms. Galrani this morning by the Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru Police. They had brought a search warrant from the court to do so.
Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested at the end of a CCB raid at her Indira Nagar home. She was taken to the Crime Branch office for further questioning. The CCB revealed that Sanjjanaa was on their radar ever since the arrest of her friend Rahul was booked in the case.
Sanjjanaa was born in Bengaluru. She made her film debut in a Tamil movie ‘Oru Kadhal Seiveer’ in 2006. She has acted in a Kannada movie ‘Ganda Hendathi’.
The police have also raided the house of Viren Khanna. “He (Khanna) is the main person who organises big parties where drugs are consumed. He was in Delhi and two CCB police inspectors had gone to Delhi and arrested him,” Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil had said last Frida
The ongoing investigations that led to the arrest of more than 13 persons till date started a couple of weeks ago. Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, had appeared before the crime branch. He had shared information about the alleged use of drugs in the Kannada film industry.
Actress Ragini Dwivedi was the first celebrity to be arrested in the drug peddling charges. She is at present on an extended remand for five more days
