Pranab Mukherjee on ventilator support, undergoes brain surgery
Former President Pranab Mukherjee undergoes a successful brain surgery at the Army's Research and Referral (R&R) hospital.
Earlier, today, former President Pranab Mukherjee had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus, however, he also underwent successful brain surgery at the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) hospital and is currently on ventilator support.
“Former President Pranab Mukherjee underwent a successful brain surgery for removal of a clot at the Army’s R&R ho hospital,” sources told PTI.
“He is critical and is on ventilator support,” said the sources.

On Monday afternoon, the former president took to his Twitter handle and announced that he has been tested positive for COVID-19, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today.
I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19. #CitizenMukherjee”

Soon after, several political leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arnab Kejriwal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Union minister Piyush Goyal and many others wished for the former president’s speedy recovery on social media.
Reportedly, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the R&R Hospital and enquired about Pranab Mukherjee’s health. He was at the hospital for around 20 minutes.
