In an unfortunate turn of events, the veteran choreographer of Bollywood, Saroj Khan breathed her last on Friday i,e July 3. She has hundreds of dances numbers from Bollywood to her credit and several artists owe their career to her. Did you knew? Even Shah Rukh Khan got it iconic arm pose form the choreographer, which resulted into becoming one his identity in the industry.
The three-time National Award winner dancer was not keeping well for some time and she was hospitalised before passing away. She is hailed as the ‘mother of dance’ in India and several A-listers in Bollywood have worked with her. In one of her throwback interviews, she was caught candid talking about the time when she choreographed SRK and Kajol in ‘Baazigar’ title track ‘Baazigar O Baazigar’. She had said, “We were shooting Baazigar in Mauritius. He (SRK) takes name of land and sky, there’s a back shot and he opens his arms. Then he turns and reveals name on his chest by opening his shirt. I gave him this action there.”

Remembering his ‘genuine teacher in the film industry’, Shah Rukh Khan posted an heartfelt message on his Twitter handle.
My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring persona i have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me.
