Neyveli Lignite Power Plant Boiler Explosion: 6 dead, 17 injured in second explosion within couple of months
At least six people were killed and 17 injured in a boiler blast at Neyveli Thermal Power Station. The boiler exploded on Wednesday at the NLC India Ltd’s thermal plant in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore district. This is the second such incident within a gap of two months.
As reported by PTI, the accident was reported from the fifth unit of the thermal power station-II. It happend when workers were in the process of resuming operations in the morning.

As reported by sources to PTI, Many workers are feared trapped. The injured have been rushed to NLCIL General Hospital in Neyveli.

Neyveli, a township in Cuddalore district, is about 200 kilometers south of Chennai. Wednesday’s blast is the second in two months. On May 7, two workers were killed and eight injured in a similar incident.
