Reprieve from summer, heavy rains and gusty winds lash Hyderabad on Sunday
Heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds hit Hyderabad city on Sunday. After reeling under intense summer conditions over the last one month, the sudden rainfall brought much-needed relief to denizens across the city. Moderate to heavy rainfall was received in many parts of Hyderabad and Secundrabad.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Hayathnagar recorded the highest rainfall of 37 mm till 1 pm, followed by Abdullapurmet (35 mm), Vaidehinagar (28.5 mm) and Patancheru (16.8 mm). In the State, Siddipet, Nirmal, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts too recorded light to moderate rainfall on Sunday.
LB Nagar, Hayath Nagar, Nagole, BN Reddy, Meerpet, Hastinapuram, Vanasthalipuram, Malkajgiri, Uppal, and Secunderabad witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall. The heavy rains and winds also caused power outages.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Hyderabad for the next few days. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also predicted today and tomorrow in some parts of Telangana.
