PM Modi to hold fifth meeting with CMs on Monday to discuss post lockdown strategy
India enters the last week of the third phase of the COVID-19 lockdown, which is scheduled to end on May 17. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold another meeting with state Chief Ministers via video-conference on Monday afternoon at 3 pm. This will be his fifth meeting with CMs to discuss the post-lockdown strategy.

The meeting will also be attended by home minister Amit Shah, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Senior officials from the center will also be a part of it including the home and health secretary.
As per the HT report, The meeting will likely discuss the next stage in the exit from the nationwide lockdown. It will focus on a further increase in economic activities and also on ways to tackle the pandemic in containment zones. The states were in favour of a two-pronged strategy to increase economic activities while containing the disease. Reportedly the prime minister’s meeting is likely to introduce more concessions after May 17.

The meeting with the chief ministers will also focus on the flight of migrant workers. It presents a difficulty for a full-scale resumption of manufacturing, industrial, and construction activities.
On Sunday, the total number of coronavirus cases in India climbed to 62,939, while total number of fatalities rose to 2,109.
