Amitabh Bachchan pens a nostalgic post for Rishi Kapoor: 'I never visited him in hospital'
Rishi Kapoor who had been admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai passed away on Thursday after a long battle with cancer. His demise left Bollywood who was already reeling under the death of Irrfan Khan a day before in shock. One of them being megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor had worked in several films together over the years. They had a long-standing friendship that went back to four decades. The news of Rishi Kapoor’s death gave a shock to Big B. He was the first to share the sad news on Twitter. Now he has penned a heartfelt Memoriam on his blog for the versatile actor.
Taking to his blog, Amitabh Bachchan posted an elaborate note about his memories with the late actor. Big B mentioned that he saw Rishi Kapoor as a young energetic ‘Chintu’ who had mischief in his eyes. He shared that he got to meet him when he was invited to Raj Kapoor’s house. Besides this, Big also compared Rishi Kapoor to his grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor as he would walk with the same confidence and determination.

Mentioning about Rishi Kapoor’s health condition, Big B wrote, During his time of diagnosis and his treatment he never ever lamented his condition. Big B added that he never visited Rishi Kapoor in the hospital because he never wanted to see his “distress” on his smiling face.
Rishi Kapoor was cremated at 4 pm at Chandawadi crematorium in Mumbai on April 30, 2020.
