‘Amma Has Come To Take Me,’ Irrfan Khan’s Last Words Before He Died
Irrfan's mother Saeeda Begum had passed away on April 25 in Jaipur at the age of 95
It came as a shock to all of us when we heard the news of Irrfan Khan’s death. The actor was admitted to Mumbai’s, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday (April 28, 2020) as he was suffering from a ‘colon infection’ and just four days after his mother’s demise he too breathed his last.
Everyone is eager to know what might be the last words of the actor before he died. According to the Bombay Times, Irrfan’s last words were, “Amma has come to take me.” Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Begum had passed away on April 25 in Jaipur at the age of 95. Due to the lockdown, the actor couldn’t attend the last rites of his mom and reportedly, he paid his last respects to his mother through video conference.
Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons. They were by his side at the time of death.
His last rites were performed at the Versova kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm in the presence of his family, close relatives and friends. “Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he’s in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss,” read an official statement.
The entire country is mourning the death of the actor. From Bollywood stars, politicians to sportspersons, everyone has paid tribute to the actor on social media.
Irrfan had neuroendocrine tumour and after being treated in London, he made his comeback with ‘Angrezi Medium’. Due to his health, he couldn’t be present at the promotions of the movie.
His death is indeed a great loss to the Bollywood industry.
