COVID-19 Updates: Maharashtra Extends Lockdown Till April 30
Maharashtra will continue to be locked down till April 30, says CM Uddhav Thackeray
After Odisha, Punjab and Rajasthan, Maharashtra government has announced the extension of lockdown after April 14. The decision was taken after PM Modi had a meeting with the Chief Ministers of various states. Most of the CMs suggested for an extension as the positive cases are seeing an increase.
Uddhav Thackeray, the CM of Maharashtra government on Saturday announced the extension of lockdown in the state as positive Coronavirus cases have crossed 1,500-mark.
Maharashtra will continue to be locked down till April 30, said the CM. He also said that there may be a relaxation of restrictions in some places, but they might tighten in others depending on the situation. He said details about schools, colleges, etc will be announced before 14 April.

During the interaction, all the Chief Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were wearing a white mask and Modi told the CMs that focus should be on “jaan bhi, jahaan bhi” and it is essential for “India’s bright future, and prosperous and healthy India”.
“While announcing the lockdown, I had said ‘jaan hai to jahan hai’… Most people in the country understood it and discharged their responsibilities by remaining indoors. And now it is imperative to focus on both aspects, ‘Jaan bhi Jahan Bhi’, for India’s bright future, and prosperous and healthy India,” PTI quoted him saying.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus positive cases in Maharashtra have gone to1666 and 110 deaths have been reported.
