Ekta Kapoor To Forsake Her One Year’s Salary For Workers Of Balaji Telefilms
Ekta will forsake her one year's salary i.e 2.5 crores for the employees of Balaji Telefilms.
India is currently at a critical stage in its fight against the novel Coronavirus. From common men to celebrities to businessmen, everyone has come forward to contribute to the society at this time of crisis. Also, a few companies have given away advance salaries to their workers while some owners of companies are taking only half of their salaries home so that the employees don’t face problems.
Ekta Kapoor has done something really commendable. The television czarina has released an official statement where she has mentioned that she will forsake her one year’s salary i.e 2.5 crores for her co-workers at Balaji Telefilms. In the statement, she wrote, “It’s my first & foremost responsibility to take care of the various freelancers & daily wage workers who work at Balaji Telefilms & who are going to suffer immense losses due to no shootings in the current scenario and uncertainty over the indefinite period to follow.”(sic)
Releasing the official statement, she tweeted, “The only way ahead, is together! #StaySafeStayHealthy”.

This is indeed a noble deed for the betterment of her workers and we wish other production houses’ owners also do the same.
Coronavirus lockdown is taking a toll specially on the daily wage workers as most of the production works are suspended due to the state and national-level lockdown. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier urged all private sector companies to pay salaries to their employees.
