Varun Dhawan contributes Rs 55 Lakh in fight against Coronavirus

As the entire world is currently in a state of confusion, panic, bewilderment and uncertainty due to Coronavirus pandemic, celebrities across the have been coming forward to fight the Coronavirus war. The latest Bollywood celebrity who pledged to contribute a whopping amount to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s coronavirus relief fund called PM Cares is Varun Dhawan.

Yes, hours after Akshay Kumar announced to pledge Rs 25 crore to PM Cares, Varun Dhawan and other celebrities have also extended their helping hands and donated a sizeable amount helping Indian citizen and fight the Covid-19 war.

The donation from the celebrities and businessmen came after PM Modi announced the PM-CARES fund on March 28 urging citizen to make their contribution fighting against Coronavirus outbreak. PM had also said that the fund will also cater to similar situations if they arise in the times to come.

Besides PM CARES fund, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has also made a contribution to Maharashtra’s CM relief fund.

Taking to social media, Varun Dhawan informed that he contributed a sum of Rs 30 lakh to the PM-CARES fund. Making the announcement on Twitter. He wrote, “I pledge to contribute 30 lakhs to the PM CARE fund. We will overcome this. Desh hai toh hum hain. (sic)”

Responding to his commendable gesture, PM Modi wrote, “Well said and well done.”

Informing his fans about his contribution of Rs 25 lakh to Maharashtra’s relief fund, Varun Dhawan wrote, “I pledge to contribute 25 lakhs to the Maharashtra CM’s relief fund @OfficeofUT @AUThackeray @CMOMaharashtra. We are with you sir,” he wrote on Twitter.

Replying to the Coolie No1 actor’s tweet, son of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Aaditya Thackeray wrote, “Thank you so much for this (sic).”

The official handle of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has also replied to his tweet.

Notably, the total number of people affected by Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has surged to 153 on Friday. As of now, five people in Maharashtra have lost their lives.
