Coronavirus Outbreak: Pawan Kalyan Will Donate Rs 1 Crore To PM Relief Fund
He will also be donating 50 lakhs each to AP and Telangana CM relief funds
The COVID-19 pandemic is hitting the country hard with over 600 cases of the virus India. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced a 21 day lockdown to curb the growth of the coronavirus outbreak. Many celebrities, national and international, took to social media and urged their fans to stay in their homes. Now, Pawan Kalyan has announced that he will be donating Rs 1 crore to the PM relief fund.
The actor took to Twitter to share the news. He wrote, “I will be donating Rs.1 crore to PM relief fund to support our Sri @narendramodi ji,in turbulent times like this. His exemplary and inspiring leadership would truly bring our country from this Corona pandemic..”
However, that was not all. He also announced, “I will be donating Rs.50 Lakhs each to both AP and Telangana CM relief funds to fight against Corona pandemic.”
Pawan Kalyan is renowned for his philanthropic work. He founded a charitable trust called Common Man Protection Force. It assist citizens who fall under EWS in states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In addition, Pawan Kalyan donated Rs 1 crore to Kendriya Sainik Board. This was used for the welfare of the families of soldiers. Moreover, he has also donated Rs 20 lakhs for the Uttarakhand flood victims back in 2017.
In addition, South Indian stars like Rajinikanth, Suriya, Nithiin, Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi have also donated money to support the daily wage workers of Film Employees Federation of South India.
Film Employees Federation of South India has recently released a statement requesting celebrities to come forward to support the daily wage workers who are currently jobless due to the pandemic.
