PM Narendra Modi Urges Citizen to Forget What It Is Like to Venture Outside
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (March 24, 2020) has announced that from midnight today, the entire will go under complete lockdown.
The outbreak of Coronavirus — which has already claimed over 16,000 lives and infected more than 377,000 people globally — has forced various countries to impose tougher measures to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19.
In his second address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that from midnight today, the entire will go under complete lockdown for the next 21 days. Modi has also said that no one will be allowed to move out of their house from midnight today.
Every district, every village will go under complete lockdown from today midnight. This is a type of curfew, much more stringent than Janta Curfew. PM Modi has urged people to forget what it is like to step out of the house for 21 days.
“I am not saying this as a PM, but a family member,” said PM Modi. Modi said that if we fail during these 21 days, this virus will set us back by 21 years.
Prime Minister Modi said that social distancing or self-quarantine is the only way out of the coronavirus pandemic. The complete lockdown has drawn a “Lakshman Rekha” at your door. One step outside can bring the virus inside your house.
PM Modi has said that India is now at the stage where our actions will decide how well we can contain the spread of this big pandemic
“We must not venture out of our homes at any cost. We all must stay indoors. We can only save ourselves if we don’t cross the “Lakshman Rekha outside our homes,” said PM Modi.
Requesting his citizen, PM Modi said, “I request you with folded hands to think and pray about those who are providing essential services while putting their lives on the line – from doctors, nurses, pathologists. Think about them. They are working 24×7 in hospitals to fight Coronavirus outbreak.”
Ensuring about essential supply, PM Modi has said that efforts are being made and will be made to get what is essential.
“Centre and state governments are working at a fast pace to ensure that people don’t face inconvenience,” said PM Modi.
According to The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, cases or Coronavirus cases in India rose to 519.
