Roadies: Former Director Nivedith Alva slams the makers post Neha Dhupia controversy
The director of the first Roadies season, Nivedith Alva has slammed the makers post Neha Dhupia controversy.
The reality show ‘Roadies’ has been grabbing the headlines for the past few days due to wrong reasons. The recent episode of Neha Dhupia’s statement on ‘cheating in a relationship’ has created a stir nationwide. Now, the former director of Roadies season 1 in 2003, Nivedith Alva took to his Twitter to express frustration to the current version.
Sharing his disappointment to the current version of Roadies, Nivedith Alva wrote in a series of tweets, “The MTV Roadies format was created by my brother Nikhil Alva @njalva and was meant to be a show that inspired & united the youth of India to do good and get involved with nation building.”

“The show has degenerated over time to the point where it is an embarrassment to brand MTV & to any advertiser associated with it.
In the end,these young participants have to go back into the real world. It is worth considering the long term damage being done to them,for ratings.”

Talking about the Neha Dhupia controversy, she slammed one of the contestants for slapping his girlfriend after he claimed that his girlfriend was cheating on him with 5 men. She said, “Nobody gives you the right to slap a girl” and that it was the girl’s choice to be with multiple men at the same time. Thus, she was trolled by netizens for the same.
Later, the actress posted a statement on her social media about the whole controversy and how she has been receiving abuses ever since.
