A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood: New trailer released

A new trailer for the upcoming film A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood has been released. The film stars Tom Hanks as the beloved Mr. Fred Rogers. The trailer gives a clear insight into the story of the film. Mr. Rodgers is a man who sees hope in the most hopeless of situations. Lloyd Vogel, an investigative journalist, is asked to profile Fred Rogers for a piece in the magazine.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is based on a 1998 article “Can You Say… Hero?” by Tom Junod. The article was published in Esquire. Lloyd Vogel is a character based on Tom Junod who wrote the article the film is based on. The film is directed by Marielle Heller. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood stars Tom Hanks, Matthew Rhys, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Chris Cooper.

The trailer offers a utopian world view as seen by Mr. Rodgers’ eyes. Tom Hanks is surreally convincing as the beloved TV Host. His optimism is nicely balanced out by Lloyd Vogel’s cynicism. The reporter dismisses Fred Rodgers as a fake at first. The trailer takes viewers through his change of perception as he sees Mr. Rodgers just genuinely believes in the goodness in people. Vogel says later in the trailer that Rodgers must like broken people like him. Fred Rodgers’ reply is both heart-wrenching and heartening as he says I don’t think you are broken.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on November 22, 2019, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
