Kelly Ripa slams at backlash over her son Michael in extreme poverty joke
Kelly is now defending the joke over her son at Jimmy Kimmel Live
Kelly Ripa is now defending a joke that she casually made about her son Michael Consuelos on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Apparently, Kelly made an appearance on the talk show on Tuesday. During that time Ripa talked about her son Michael. She said that he is living alone in Brooklyn.
Michael attends New York University. Currently, Kelly expressed her viewpoint that he is learning how to live on his own just like many other young adults. Ripa was also seen joking about the fact stating that her son loved the freedom. She also told that Michael disliked paying his own rent and that he was ‘chronically’ poor. Ripa also continued further saying that she doesn’t think that he had ever in reality experienced extreme poverty like now.
Also, Kelly was heard saying that her son is excited to receive the annual Halloween gift worth $20 that his grandparents send always. Hearing this statement by Kelly there were many people who were unhappy learning that such a successful celeb was making a thing like poverty as superficial.
It was on Wednesday when Kelly Ripa replied in the comments section of a photo of her and her son. The photo was on her official Instagram page writing. She wrote, “Michael goes to college and is a senior and works full time.”
“He is in his first non parent subsidized apt with roommates. I’m used to getting a lot of slack because people love to have fake outrage over something they didn’t see,” Kelly wrote. “They only read a headline and wag their tired fingers. I didn’t grow up privileged and neither did @instasuelos.”
