Blockbuster trade ends up with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross switching brands
WWE Backstage debuted with a Blockbuster Trade between the RAW and Smackdown brands. WWE COO Triple H arrived on the show to announce that Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have been traded to SmackDown for “considerations and draft picks down the line.”

The Game was also questioned by Booker T regarding Bruce Prichard’s appointment as the Executive Director of SmackDown. Triple H demonstrated confidence in Prichard and said he’s “already making some big moves.” Bruce Prichard is taking over the role from Eric Bishoff, the former president of WWE rival WCW in the 1990s. Bischoff lasted just four months in the role.
Bliss and Cross will help bring a balance to the SmackDown Women’s division which was a bit light weighted after the WWE Draft. Prior to the trade, Bliss, Cross, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Asuka and Kairi Sane were all drafted to RAW. This left the SmackDown division with women’s champion Bayley and Sasha Banks spearheading the division.
It is interesting to note that both Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross were previously drafted separately but ended up being drafted together. The new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors will still work both brands so it is quite possible that Bliss and Cross have an opportunity to win the titles. They have previously held the Women’s tag Team titles for 61 days.
