WAR Sequel: Director Siddharth Anand Reveals The Sequel to WAR Is in Works

Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan starrer WAR has been a topic of discussion ever since makers announced its cast. The film has finally hit the theatres on Wednesday (Gandhi Jayanti 2019) and has been doing exceptionally great at the box office. Looking at its unbelievable response, the makers of the film likely to announce a sequel to WAR soon.

Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s’ WAR clashed with Chainrajeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Hollywood film Joker. Despite not having a solo release, WAR has broken several records at the box office including Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan’s first-day box office collection.

In Bollywood, there are several hit movies have a sequel as nowadays franchise has become common across the world. The director of WAR Siddharth Anand has recently revealed that he will soon begin working on WAR sequel.

Post humungous success of WAR at the box office, Siddharth Anand spoke to IANS and said, “It’s too early to talk about it, but I definitely had an idea to convert this into a franchise. We were waiting for the audience reaction to the film. Now, I feel that it’s an audience demand more than our desire. We will soon sit together to decide our future course of action.”

You must know that Tiger and Hrithik’s WAR has crossed 100 crore mark in three days becoming the 11th highest film with an opening weekend at Rs. 95 crores and the highest opening film of 2019 beating the record of Salman Khan’s Bharat. The film also marks Siddharth Anand, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s first film achieving the milestone of crossing Rs. 100 crore mark in three days.

At the success party of the film, Tiger Shroff said, “The day I came to know I would be working in a two-hero film with Hrithik Roshan, I told myself I can’t get a bigger opportunity than this. It was like ticking off one thing on my ‘to do’ list. This film has been an educational and empowering journey.”

Directed by Siddharth Anand, War also stars Vaani Kapoor.
