Shahid Kapoor — who is currently basking in the phenomenal success of his last film Kabir Singh — is reported to have increased his fees. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh has already crossed Rs 250 crore at the box office and likely to enter Rs 300 club soon. It is Shahid Kapoor’s first Rs 200 film as a solo lead. The film was a remake of Telugu blockbuster film titled Arjun Reddy, which featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.
According to a report published in Bollywood Life, Shahid Kapoor has been roped in for another Telugu remake titled Jersey. The report states that Shahid Kapoor has demanded Rs 40 crore for Jersey, whose original version starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath was made on a budget of Rs 30 Crore. The amount Shahid Kapoor is reportedly demanding could create trouble for the makers.
According to reports, Hindi filmmaker Karan Johar has got the rights for the remake of Jersey and likely to release under his banner. However, there are reports also doing the rounds that Dil Raju and Allu Aravind will be investing in this venture under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geeta Arts respectively.
Speaking about the massive success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor had taken to social media and wrote, “Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played. Has become my most loved.”
