Jharkhand: IED Blast in Saraikella Injures 11 Security Personnel
11 CRPF, state police personnel injured in blast by Maoists in Jharkhand
At least Eleven security personnel of the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit and state police were injured in IED Blast by Maoists in Jharkhand today. The IED (Improvised Explosive Device) is reported to have exploded at about 5km in Kuchai area of Saraikela in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Saraikela blast, which took place today’s morning has left eight men of CoBRA and three police personnel injured.
According to NDTV, following the Jharkhand blast, the Maoists opened fire at the security personnel and then escaped from the spot. Notably, CoBRA or the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action is a specialised unit of the CRPF.
The affected area has been cordoned off and the evacuation process is completed. All the injured people have been airlifted to Ranchi for their treatment.
