Massive fire breaks out at a building in Surat, death toll rises
PM Modi expressed his condolence for the ones who lost their lives .
On Friday, a fire broke out in a building in Sarthana area of Surat, Gujarat and as per a report in ANI, the death toll has risen to 17. PM Narendra Modi has expressed his condolence for the ones who lost their lives and asked the Gujarat Government and local authorities to provide all possible assistance to those who are affected.
His tweet read as: “Extremely anguished by the fire tragedy in Surat. My thoughts are with bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. Have asked the Gujarat Government and local authorities to provide all possible assistance to those affected.”

Visuals are doing round the social media where we can see the fire extending to the third and fourth floor of the Taxshila Complex in Surat. Students even jumped off the third and fourth floors to save themselves from fire and smoke as reported by PTI.

Many have been rescued and sent to hospitals and the operation to control the fire is still going on.
