Leila Trailer: Huma Qureshi in Deepa Mehta’s dystopian drama will leave you spellbound

The makers of Huma Qureshi starrer ‘Leila’ are out with the trailer of the Netflix web series. The story is based on Prayag Akbar’s award-winning book of the same name. The emotional drama is all about one woman’s search for her daughter.

The story of the film is set in an imaginary world of the Aryavarta (Arif Zakaria). It is a digitally advanced world where the leader is in the process of separating the pure and impure. Huma Qureshi is seen living happily with her husband and daughter when she is kidnapped and her husband is murdered and daughter is snatched away by the religious leaders. She is taken to an ashram where the Godman forces her to undergo a purification ceremony. She escapes and is seen searching for her daughter.

‘Leila’ is helmed by Deepa Mehta and stars Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, Rahul Khanna, Seema Biswas, Akash Khurana, Sanjay Suri and Arif Zakaria in pivotal roles. It is set to release on Netflix worldwide across 190 countries on June 14, 2019.
