WrestleMania 35: Becky Lynch Becomes First Woman, Who Won All-Female Main Event

An Irish professional wrestler Becky Lynch has finally scripted a history becoming the first ever woman to win the all-female main event since WrestleMania started. Becky Lynch defeated former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to be crowned both Smackdown and Raw champion. These are two brands which operate under the WWW umbrella. Becky Lynch is the only woman who won both Raw and SmackDown Woman’s titles.

According to CNN, Fans from all 50 US states and 68 countries descended on New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium with WrestleMania 35, which made a collection of $16.9 million. The heavy crowd helped to break its earlier record of having minted $12.3 million, set by WrestleMania 29 in 2013.

It is to be noted that WrestleMania 35 has become the second-highest grossing event in the franchise’s history after WrestleMania 32, which held at AT&T Stadium in Texas. Following her overwhelming victory, when she asked how she felt to have inspired a new generation. She said, “Anything is possible now, man,” she said after the event. “Anything. It’s hard to put into words how I’m feeling right now. It’s so overwhelming.

“I’ve worked for this my entire life, I’ve dreamed about this, I’ve obsessed about this moment and I never knew how I was going to feel.” She added.

Apart from Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston became just the second African-American wrestler in the organization’s history to win the WWE Championship, beating Daniel Bryan.

Following her historic win at WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch gave an interview to Cathy Kelly. Lynch was quizzed about achieving her dream of headlining WrestleMania and she revealed how overwhelmed she was by the support from the fans in the MetLife Stadium as well as what her historic win meant for her.

“Anything is possible, anything. It’s hard to put into words, like how I’m feeling right now. It’s just so overwhelming. I’ve worked for this my entire life, I’ve dreamed about this, I’ve obsessed about this moment and I never knew how I was going to feel. I had a picture but so much is going on in my head right now that I can’t comprehend it.I just achieved all my dreams. I did what I said I was going to do and the people, 80,000 people here supporting me and wanting me to achieve my goals and dreams and that means the world to me. And it’s only the beginning.”
