2019 IPL auctions: No Indian in highest price bracket out of 346 shortlisted players

The Indian Premier League auctions scheduled to be held on December 18 would have no Indian cricketer featuring in the price category of Rs 2 crore.

The final list has been selected from a total of 1003 players who were initially registered after all eight franchises submitted their lists of retained players, according to a release by the BCCI.

The price bracket of Rs 2 crore would have Brendon McCullum, Angelo Mathews, Corey Anderson, Shaun Marsh, Lasith Malinga, Chris Woakes, Colin Ingram, Sam Curran and D’ Arcy Short.

Fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat, who became the costliest Indian player in the auctions last year at Rs 11.5 crore would be one of the local players who would have a base price of Rs 1.5 crore.

All-rounders Yuvraj Singh and Axar Patel, both of whom played for the Kings XI Punjab last season would enter the auctions with a base price of Rs 1 crore. Yuvraj had fetched Rs 2 crore and was released by the Punjab franchise ahead of this year’s auction.

India’s premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami would walk into the auctions with a base price of Rs 1 crore while Naman Ojha and Ishant Sharma would have a price of Rs 75 lakhs.

Indians who would enter the auctions with a base price of Rs 50 lakhs are Cheteshwar Pujara, Mohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Hanuma Vihari and Gurkeerat Singh.
