Australia vs India 1st T20I: Here’s how Twitter reacted to the rain-hit thriller
India went down fighting in the first T20I of the three-match series where they fell short by an agonising margin of four runs in a match that was eventually shortened to 17 overs-a-side due to rain.
Australia batted first in the match and racked up 158/4 in 17 overs as Glenn Maxwell starred with some clean hitting with 46 runs off 24 deliveries. India’s revised target in the match was 174 in 17 overs and despite a quality 76 off 42 balls from Shikhar Dhawan and a late flourish from Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant, India ended up on the losing side.
However, the contest closely followed by millions across the globe as it signalled the start of India’s highly anticipated tour of Australia, saw the Twitterati quick to pour in with their thoughts on the thriller in Brisbane.
Here are the tweets:

A really cracker of a game to begin what promises to be a really good series. Wonderful innings from Shikhar and useful contributions from DK and Pant but in the end Stoinis handled his nerves well. Good game nonetheless #AusvInd
