Ram Temple issue: Workers complete 50 percent carving work as politicians play blame game

507

The politicians, Hindutva groups, ministers and the judiciary — all are busy debating on the Ram Temple issue in Ayodhya, while 50 percent of the carving work of stones for the construction of temple has already been completed by Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas-workshop in Karsevakpuram — running since 1990.

With the Supreme Court yet again declined to hear the petition of the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid land dispute on Monday and stuck to its pervious order, the disappointment continues to grow among the petitioners. As per to the information, till now 14 petitions have been filed in the apex court against the High Court judgment — dividing the 2.77 acre land equally among the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.

Now with the stats clear among all the petitioners and the court, the wait for the final judgment seems to be too tough and long. Considering the point that the blue print is ready and sevaks all set with ‘ready-to-move blocks that can be easily assembled’ for the first floor, each passing day is developing an anxiety feeling among the petitioners.

Coming back to the blueprint, the plan says that the temple will be 268 ft long, 140 ft wide and 128 ft high from the ground to the topmost point. Each floor will have 106 pillars in which 16 statues would be carved, Altogether 212 pillars will support the base, informs Annu Bhai Sompura who is in-charge of the workshop too.

According to Sompura, all the workers are waiting for the green signal from the Supreme Court and once it is out, the work of laying the foundation would begin. He also claims that the first floor’s carving material is already done and the work for the second floor’s work is on.

However, Sompura is little upset with the donations crunch and opines that these days the funds are not coming to them as it was earlier. Due to this, the numbers of workers have also decreased to two craftsmen and a couple of labourers. In 1990s, there were about 150 workers at the workshop, managed by Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Temple when Lord wants it:

While the VHP, RSS and the karsevaks demanding the verdict to be announced soon by the Supreme Court, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma opines that the temple will be built when Lord Ram wants it.

Speaking to the reporters in Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, Sharma said, as TOI reports, “The BJP has explained its stand on Ram temple in its Sankalp Yatra. Every work is done by God.” Adding more, he said, “The sooner the benevolence of Lord Ram showers, the work will be accomplished. When Lord Ram wants, he will become the Kaarak (factor) and Kaaran (reason).”

Similar opinions were made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and even some Union ministers. However, controversial comments are continuously being made by the leaders, trying to ignite the political tension and religious sentiments of people in the country.
