Retired Engineer plans to build Modi temple with 100-ft statue of the PM
A retired engineer, who is also a devoted follower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to construct a temple in the name of the political leader, reported Hindustan Times on Sunday.
The temple will be constructed on the Meerut-Karnal highway in Sardhana area of Meerut and will also have a 100-feet tall metal statue of the PM, said the report.
The temple will also have statues of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi in the sanctum sanctorum,” Mr. JP Singh, a retired assistant engineer from irrigation field, was quoted as saying by the daily.
It was Modi’s impressive work and his impartial service to the nation that steered Singh into thinking of such a plan in building a temple in Modi’s name.
The entire project will cost around Rs 10 crore and the entire money will be collected through donations, added Singh later clarifying that many people have already assured him of help and that the project will be completed in two years.
“We have arranged everything from land to money. The project will be carried out under the aegis of a Trust which will be registered by Thursday,” said Singh, reports the daily.
The foundation stone of the temple is also planned to be laid on October 23, where Singh plans to invite many top party leaders from the state.
The statue for the temple will be built in the same place in Gujarat where the iron statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was made, Singh is believed to have said.
“Sardar Patel is the ideal of Modiji and Modiji is our beloved leader. Therefore, his statue should also be made at the same place,” he added reports the daily.
