Andhra Pradesh: Teacher slits student’s throat for rejecting his advances
Yet another horrific incident came to light in Andhra Pradesh. A class 9 student was allegedly attacked by her school teacher in Kurnool district on Saturday. According to an NDTV report, the accused teacher had gone to student’s home and tried to slit her throat with a blade after she rejected his advances.
The teacher identified as Shankar — who teaches Hindi at Rockwell High School in Bangarupeta area of Kurnool district — which is located almost 200 kilometres from Hyderabad. After attacking her, he reportedly slashed his own throat too.
As per the primary information, Shankar was in an inebriated state when he entered the girl’s house and stabbed.
Following the incident, the victim was rushed to the Kurnool government hospital. On hearing her screams, the neighbours rushed to her rescue, they beat him up and handed him over to the police. Later, the accused was taken to the hospital by the police.
According to the report, HRD Minister, Ghant Srinivasa Rao was ordered to place the Hindi teacher under suspension
