Along with this, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla also promised that their government will continue with its two flagship programmes for farmers and youths. According to the party’s manifesto, if Congress retains the power, every student who clears the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam for Class 10 and above would be given laptops every year. However, the party leader stated that for the initial phase, these laptops will be provided to those students above the HSLC without jobs.
The party also promised that for the unemployed youths and farmers of the state, the government will continue its policies of New Economic Development Policy (NEDP) and New Land Use Policy (NLUP) respectively. Under the NLUP a farmer gets Rs one lakh, which the party said that they will increase it.
Also, housing the poor in rural areas and residential quarters for employees of police and education department are there in Congress party’s agenda. Residential quarters for employees of police and education departments have got the place in the party’s manifesto.
With a long list of promises, the Congress party has tried to woo the voters for effective outcome in the elections. The results of the polls will be announced on December 11, along with four other states.
