Water tanker rammed into Qatar Airways flight at Kolkata airport
Over 100 passengers on board a Qatar Airways flight had a narrow escape at the Kolkata airport on Thursday early morning after a water tanker hit their plane, which was preparing to take off. All the passengers were reported to be safe.
The water tanker rammed into the aircraft minutes before its take off at 3.15 am. There were 103 passengers on board the aircraft when it met with the accident. The aircraft’s belly was damaged in the accident.
The aircraft that took the hit was taken away for repairs soon after the incident. The flight was Qatar Airways QR 541, a Doha-bound service that usually departs from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at around 3 am. An inquiry has been ordered into the accident.
