Haryana CBSE topper gangrape: Two accused Including armyman arrested
Days after a 19-year-old student in Haryana’s Rewari district was gang-raped, two prime accused including an Army man has been arrested. Director General of Police (DGP) BS Sandhu told PTI, with the arrest of Pankaj, an Army man, and Manish, all the accused in the case have now been arrested.
Earlier, an accused named Nishu had reportedly planned the kidnapping, and gang-rape of the student and two other accused were arrested. Nishu, had apparently called up a doctor when the victim’s condition was worsening and understood that her condition cannot be revived normally.
The incident of 19-year-old gangrape had trigged a nation-wide outrage since it took place in BJP ruled state. While, the opposition parties were demanding Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s resignation for not taking women’s safety seriously.
The victim was abducted from a bus stop in Kanina town in neighbouring Mahendragarh district on September 12, when she was on her way to a coaching class. Later she was taken to a field several kilometres away from the bus stop, allegedly drugged and gang-raped.
The victim, who is currently in the second year, was awarded by the President of the country for her excellent performance in CBSE board exams
