In pics: Nirmal Soni as new Dr Hathi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Actor Nirmal Soni has taken over as new Dr. Hathi and the first pictures from the episode are out. Kavi Kumar Azad’s untimely death left a major void but as the saying goes, the show must go on.

As per the story, Nirmal will make his entry during the Ganpati track. Gokuldham members are not being able to get Lord Ganesha because of floods. When everyone else has given up, Dr Hathi wades through the water with a Lord Ganesha idol on his head. The Gokuldham members are elated, not just because Ganesha has come but because Dr. Hathi has also returned.

As for Nirmal Soni, life came a full circle for him as he was essaying the same role in 2008 when the show had just started and now, after ten years, he is again a part of the show.

TOI quoted Nirmal Soni saying, “Life is a circle and I feel extremely happy to be a part of this show again after a decade and meet all my co-artists. The entire team has been so supportive and co-operative. I’m happy that I got the opportunity to play Dr. Haathi’s character again after 10 years. It is incredible to see Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah running so strongly and I am grateful to its creator and producer Asit Modi for re-considering me.”
