In an ongoing encounter three out of five terrorists shot in Kulgam, J&K
Militants have once again made their way in to the troubled state of Jammu and Kashmir. In an encounter with the security forces on Saturday morning, three militants were killed in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, said the police.
Police official said that these three militants were in the operation at Chowgam in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. A total of five militants were believed to be engaged in the encounter, police added.

Reacting on a specific tip off about the presence of militants in Chowgam, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area this morning. During the ongoing search operation, the militants opened fire on the security forces, prompting them to retaliate. Killing three out of the five outlaws engaged in the act, said the official. He also added that the operation is continued.
In the meantime in the midst of ongoing turmoil, strain services to the valley are suspended due to apprehensions of law and order problems. The officials have confirmed that the train services between Baramulla-Qazigund have been suspended.

In some other development, Light tremors were reported in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana on 12 September 2018. An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred at 5.43 am in Jhajjar, Haryana while an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter Scale occurred at 5.15 am in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the same day, strong tremors were felt in some parts of Assam, as the earthquake stuck Assam’s Kokrajhar on Wednesday. The Earthquake was measured at a magnitude of 5,6 on the Richter scale by the Indian Earthquake Centre.
According to the report, the mild tremors were also felt in West Bengal and Bihar too. Initially, it was not known where the epicentre of the earthquake was but later reports indicated that it was Assam.
