Rapper Mac Miller dies in Los Angeles at age 26; Musicians pay tribute on Twitter
Mac Miller is a rapper from Pittsburgh whose debut album topped the charts in 2011. Reports suggest that Rapper Mac Miller died on Friday in Los Angeles because of an apparent drug overdose.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said that he was found unresponsive at his house in the Studio City neighborhood and pronounced dead there.
Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, had discussed in media interviews and rap lyrics, his use of drugs, particularly the misuse of prescription cough syrup.
His family confirmed his death and said that he was, “a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans.”
Hollywood musicians took to Twitter to express their condolences to him.
