Raksha Bandhan 2018: Indian Railways to run ladies special trains
For the first time Indian Railways has announced ‘Ladies Special Trains’ that will shuttle from Delhi to its nearby cities on Raksha Bandhan, that will be celebrated on Aug 26, this year. This initiative is taken to facilitate women travelling on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. Six special trains are allotted for the cause.
Train No. 64491- Palwal to New Delhi will depart from Palwal at 8:20 am and will arrive at 10:00 am at Delhi. Train no. 64492 will depart from New Delhi station at 5:40 pm and will arrive at Palwal at 7:20 pm. Train no. 64449 from Ghaziabad to New Delhi will leave Ghaziabad station at 8:30 in the morning and will arrive at 9:02 at New Delhi Station.
Train no. 64450 will leave New Delhi station at 5:50 pm and will arrive at Ghaziabad station at 6:40 pm. Train no. 64470 will depart from Panipat station at 6:40 in the morning and will arrive at New Delhi station at 8:55 am. Train no. 64469 will depart from New Delhi station at 5:50 am and will arrive at Panipat station at 8:05 pm.
During the festival of Raksha Bandhan, all means of public transportation are overcrowded. This time, the problem of overcrowding is all the more magnified because this year Raksha Bandhan in on Sunday. These trains are introduced to ease out the problem of overcrowding during Raksha Bandhan and also to ensure a safe journey for the women passengers.
