Michael Vaughan’s optimism trolled on social media
England walked off the field at the end of the third day’s play requiring 498 runs to win the third Test match at Trent Bridge after a dominant batting display by India helped them set a daunting total of 521 runs. But former England captain Michael Vaughan offered a very easy way out for the hosts and he was unsurprisingly trolled by the Twitteratti.
Taking to Twitter, Vaughan wrote, “ Simple Equation … England have 6 sessions to Bat to win the series … !!!!!!!!!!!! #EngvInd.”
This tweet received an immediate backlash from the Indian fans.
An user named Andy wrote, “If they are 5-minute sessions it might just be achievable.”
Another one, named Nikhil, tweeted, “Simple equation: England can’t win in 10 balls, India can.”
The responses kept on flowing in as some mocked Vaughan’s optimism. An user named Abhishek Pandey wrote, “I found too much optimism in these words.
Keep it up.”
Another user with the name, ‘Silly Point’ wrote, “Six sessions to win, but only one session is enough to lose.”
