WWE star Kane elected Mayor in Knox County of Tennessee
WWE superstar Kane, whose real name is Glenn Jacobs has been elected as the mayor in Tennessee.
Jacobs, better known as ‘Kane’ to many fans across the world won two-thirds of the votes in Knox County beating Democrat Linda Haney to be elected as mayor of the county.
He, therefore, becomes the second WWE star to be elected in the public office of USA after Jesse Ventura, who served as the 38th Governor of Minnesota from 1999-2003.
Ventura was known as “Jesse The Body Ventura” in the wrestling world.
Kane rose to prominence in the ring by playing a monstrous masked half-brother of The Undertaker. The former WWE world heavyweight champion will succeed Tim Burchett as the mayor of Knox. He will take his oath on September 1.

While his monstrous appearance in the ring portrays him as the devil, the 51-year-old republican feels that career in the wrestling world will not hamper his new role but will help him.
“The thing someone like me brings to a race like this is, because of who I am, I can put Knox County in a positive light, nationally,” said Kane to local news station WBIR. “There are so many great things our county has to offer, and frankly the rest of the country needs to know about it.”
He, however, has still not confirmed his retirement from the wrestling world and uncertainties of whether he will fulfill both the roles remain. Kane was last seen in the Extreme Rules PPV (pay-per-view), where he partnered Daniel Bryan against the Bludgeon Brothers in the Smackdown Tag Team championship match.
Kane, who joined the WWE Company in 1997 is already a three-time World Champion and has won the Tag-team championships a record 12 times.
